Exhibitions in Hong Kong


The singlecollector exhibition of imperial Qing vases of ICSBS member Anthony Cheung, entitled Ethereal Elegance, opened on Friday, November 9, 2007, with 143 objects on display at the Art Museum, Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am co-author of the catalogue with Ms. Lai Suk Yee, museum curator. This is supposedly the first-ever exhibition confined to Qing vases. The show will close on March 30, 2008.


The jade exhibition, Virtuous Treasures: Chinese Jades for the Scholar’s Table, which opened on Friday, November 16, 2007, at the University Museum and Art Gallery, University of Hong Kong, with six collectors contributing, including myself with five jade snuff bottles and Tuyet Nguet with one bottle, along with loans from the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Chinese University Art Museum. I am a guest curator, exhibitor and also co-author with Ms. Tina Pang, museum curator, of the accompanying catalogue which will come out in mid-December. The exhibition ends on February 17, 2008.
