San Francisco Bay Area Snuff Bottle Collectors

The group’s meeting was held on Saturday, November 10, at 2 P.M., in the Learning Center of the Oakland Museum of California. A report on the ICSBS Toronto convention was made by Jean Smith and Wesley Kirkholm. The topic for discussion was miniature Chinese snuff bottles, i.e., bottles that are two inches tall or less. Members were encouraged to bring examples for discussion and to share.

The next meeting, our twenty-sixth anniversary meeting, will start with luncheon at Phnom Penh Restaurant at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 12, 2008, followed by our meeting at the Oakland Museum of California at 2:00 P.M. Vincent Fausone will make a presentation about Giuseppe Castiglione, the Italian missionary who worked as a painter, designer and architect at the imperial court for fiftyone years until his death in 1766. All persons attending the luncheon, please respond to Vince Fausone. ICSBS members are welcome.
