San Francisco Bay Area Snuff Bottle Collectors

The Oakland Museum of California will be closed for the next two years for renovation. The Sunday, November 15, 2009, meeting was held at my home at 2:00 p.m. Our subject was Chinese snuff bottles of organic materials. In this category were bottles made of lacquer, coral, ivory, bone, wood, amber, seeds, nuts, gourds, tortoiseshell, bamboo and horn. Members brought several bottles from their collection to share and discuss. Conversation and review of the Dublin convention followed.

Our 28th anniversary meeting will be held at the Silver Dragon Restaurant, 835 Webster Street in Oakland. Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon and the meeting will follow at the restaurant. The topic of discussion will be monochrome glass and porcelain bottles. Please bring examples for discussion and to share. The group’s yearly dues of $15.00 per family is now payable for those interested in joining and checks should be made out and mailed to Vincent Fausone, Jr.
