Southern California Snuff Bottle Collectors

Our meeting was held on September 12, 2009, beginning with a delicious lunch at the Plum Tree in Chinatown. We adjourned to Richard Liu's boardroom for a most interesting sharing of organic bottles. Many of our members brought a variety of bottles for discussion. The organics provide such a wealth of material and styles of carving. We were treated to ivory, root amber, lacquer, bamboo, coral, mother of pearl, hornbill, gourds, seed pods etc. The list goes on. As always we came away having learned a little more and enjoyed good company. This time however, we missed our dear Emma. Emma Dagan is convalescing and we hope to have her back at our next meeting.

            Plans were made for a potluck sometime after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately this meeting did not take place as everyone was too busy. The next meeting will take place in 2010. We wish every one Happy Holidays.
